Hi, love the A3 and we're looking to buy our first but don't know a huge amount about them. Is there anything to look out for on certain models/years or anything we should try to get as it's a must have?

If you had up to £10k to spend on an A3, what spec would you buy as a general commuter/meeting vehicle? I'm interested to see if there's a particular year/model that really hits the sweet spot.

So far, a 2010 Sportback with parking sensors seems like a good choice. Not sure what engine though, any versions to avoid? 1.4TDCi looks like a good choice but not sure how easy it will be to pick up second hand.

Sorry to just come bulldozing in and asking these questions with nothing much to contribute but if there's anywhere we can get the answers to these questions it's this forum. The dealers tend not to be so direct in their answers when asked of course.
