Default A3 center pillar mouldings

Just purchased a used A3, the center pillar mouldings (8P4853289 & 8P4853290) are flaking away and need replacement. These are the black trim mouldings between the front passenger and rear passenger windows.

Anyone out there replaced these themselves, and if so, any tips on the process?

Thanks!

no need to replace them --- i think they're about $100/each. you can simply take them off and repaint them or wrap them in vinyl. i wrapped mine in carbon fiber vinyl, and it looks great.

to remove them, open both doors, pop off the rectangular portion at the bottom of the pillar. you'll see two screws you need to remove, then you just need to slide the pillar down.
