A3 - how high a mileage?
 

Hi there everyone!

I'm new to the adui forum, its great to have such a resoure of information. I'm wanting to purchase an A3 T Quattro Sport and spend between 8-9k on the car. However, it seems that cars in this price range have what I think is high mileage (between 50-65k). What would you say is acceptable on such a car? Baring in mind I will be keeping it for at least 3 years and it basically has to last - I do around 8k miles per year and when I sell it still want it to be worth something.

Any ideas / comments would be really appreciated.

My A3 1.8T has 170,000 on the clock, never misses a beat, I have previously worked for GTI Engineering and have seen loads of VW/ Audi's with high mileage and basically if you service them well and treat them right you should never have a problem, some cam belts last 100,000miles so that gives you an indication of how good they are?
