I'm in the process of purchasing a new 2015 Audi A3. As part of my discussion with the salesman, he told me that I would not need to renew my 4G subscription after the 6 month free trial expires and that I could use my connected phone to retrieve the internet data needed (traffic, weather, etc.). Is this true? In my research this evening, it seems to me that I will need a paid sub in order to not lose my traffic features. I can live without Google Earth view and Street view, but losing traffic is a bummer

Any insight to this?

 

I'm willing to bet he's lying. Who would ever renew the Audi subscription if you could just use your phone data--unless it's such a data hog that you would go over your limits too easily.

Have him show you something in writing.
