Hi All,

Currently shopping for a used A3 in central-southern CA.

There are three for sale in my town:

2010 S line, manual, gasoline, 40k miles (asking $18k)

2011 S line TDI 85k miles (has extended warranty to 100k miles, asking $17k)

2012 S line TDI 76k miles (asking $20k)

All sellers say they are somewhat flexible on the price.

All are 1 or 2 owner cars, owners have maintenance records, appear to be in good shape and well taken care of.

I'm open to the TDI for the MPG's because I drive approx. 30k miles per year for work, but would love the fun the manual in the gas 2010 provides, and this is still a bump in MPG from my V8 4runner.

My 2005 toyota 4runner has given me basically no issues up to 145k miles.

What should I expect maintenance cost wise and reliability wise with an A3, assuming none of these has any issues at the moment?

(if I decide to seriously look at one of these for purchase I will take it to a local Audi specialist to have it inspected before purchase).

I apologize if this all tis is covered in another thread. I didn't see anything in the sticky at the top of the page regarding general maintenance costs and reliability.
