Default A3 Service Lights

I have 99 V Audi A3 1.6 SE

I had it serviced using genuine parts but not by a specialist.

Is there a way to remove the "SERVICE" lights when turning on the ignition? Ive read that with some A4 models it is possible to remove them by holding in the clock button while turning on ignition or something along those lines, so I wondered if it was possible on my A3.

TIA for any responses!

press and hold button A "below speedometer" then switch ignition on.

the letters OIL will appear on the trip recorder.

release button A and pull out button B "below the rpm gauge" for 2 seconds, all done
