A3 Tinting

I've done my first project.
That's FormulaONE Pinnacle 35% Film for all the windows except windshield.
It looks a little lighter than typical 20% film, yet it's so cool because there's no difference between front dor and rear door.
I love this configuration!

Your comment would be appreciated!

;)

Looks great !
Wish I could get away with it in California.

Sure could use it. I have 15% on rear side, and hatch .... and am thinking of putting a lighter shade
on the front sides and maybe even the windshield. That way .... you cannot tell the sides are done either.

You know of anyone that has darkened the open sky glass ? I was also thinking of doing that next ... before the front
side windows.

Matt, don't know if this helps but the sunroof in my A4 is tinted and it makes a hell of a difference. My previous civic sunroof wasn't tinted and on those hot texas days I would bake unless the inner sunroof was closed, different story with the tint though. I was really shocked, because I didn't think the tint anywhere made a significant difference, but it does.

Looks great! I'm going to do mine the same way, but here in Utah, the legal tint for the front windows is 43%. Think I'll go the same level all the way around. What a beautiful car you have.

The Open Sky can be tinted however you want. This is the California Vehicle Code section re: tinting

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc26708.htm

By the way, subsection (d) allows one to tint the front windows, just not very dark.

Matt, my A4 has 30%front and 20% rear, I live is So. Cal and never gotten pulled over. My truck's front windows are also tinted. As long as you stay away from Newport Beach and Huntington Beach, cops from other cities seems to not care about front tints

RE: A3 Tinting

Cops in Newport Beach and Huntington Beach don't really "care" about tinting of the front windows, or not installing a front plate. They are using these items as pretexts to stop vehicles to check for DUI's.

NB and HB cops have pulled me over for tint and no front license plate, all fix-it tickets..they get off on giving people a bad time. I hardly ever drive in those cities anymore. Good thing I knew a cop for the city of Orange, he just signed my tickets and I didn't have to remove my tints

Hi, does anyone have any examples of what a 50% tint would look like? I'm deciding between 38% and 50% Thanks in advance.
Carl

RE: A3 Tinting

You should see approximately a 12% difference.
