Hey guys, I am looking at buying either a 1.6 Mk5 Golf or A3, I have about 12000EURO to spend and am having trouble deciding between the two cars. I much prefer the looks of the Audi but havent had the chance to test drive one yet. I have however test driven the golf and loved the way it drove, the decision is basically down to acceleration, the golf's seemed perfect for me and I presumed that the Audi's would be the same but after checking online it seems as if the Audi is a full second slower to 60, is this right? And which of the two cars do you guys prefer? thanks!

Drive both and see how you feel as you walk away from each one. The one that makes you glance back is the one to go for.
I cannot advise you on performance as I got the S3 which is actually 2500 euro's cheaper than the equivelent golf R.
Its a personal thing as its you who have to drive it
For me I prefer the Audi because it feels a more quality place to sit but before this one I had a Skoda and I felt good in that.
