A3 vs Quattro

My insurance company, using my vin number, says my car is a Quattro, even though the car is a TDI.
The insurance on the car is rather high and I am wondering if there should be a significant difference in rates. Mercury says it really doesn't matter because they just go by the name 'Audi'.

Strange; many insurers consider the A3 to be a wagon, which usually means lower rates. For example, I'm with State Farm; I pay about $930 a year for my A3 TDI, which is slightly less than I paid for the same coverage on my previous ride (02 Mitsubishi Diamante).

I had a similar problem with insurance on a Mustang SVO many years ago. I took it to the agent and showed him the engine to convince them it was indeed a 4 cylinder not a V8 that the computer said it was.
