Another newbie
 

Another new guy here. I have been reading the A3 forum for quite a few months and I certainly appreciate all the information. We have two A3's. A 2006 2.0T in San Diego with an Open Sky and not much else and a 2007 3.2 Quattro in Colorado that has no navigation, but everything else. Both are DSG. Two very different machines with very different personalities, as you all know. The 06 is white. The 07 is misano red. I have never owned an Audi before, let alone two at the same time, but we are having a blast with both of them. I look forward to adding a comment from time to time and will try to post pics of both of them next time the camera is out.

So, what are your thoughts on the comparison between the 2? Is the 2.0T more agile, feel quicker? Or does the 3.2 get the nod?

That's most definitely a loaded question in this forum. Between the cars I have logged about 9,000 miles to date. Both are stock right out of the box, so no mods. The 2.0 is lighter, turn in is a bit quicker than the 3.2. The 3.2 puts the power down quickly...a lot of laughs at stoplights even among the AUDI aware. Conti's on both cars. And when it rains in Colorado, the 3.2 is the car to have hands down. Tremendous grip. With a slight change in rubber, it should be good in the snow as well. A rear anti sway bar would help both tremendously. I just had the 5k service done on the 3.2. The DSG seems to have gotten the benefit of the service. Smoother at throttle tip in, less hunting when slowing. The 3.2 has been averaging a solid 22+ miles per gallon on Colorado's 91 octane. It has been a few months since I have been able to drive the 2.0 but it was getting around 23-24mpg around the beach and up the 5. Not so high on the road to Julian!

I have to say I picked up my 3.2 Quattro 2 days ago and it has rained ever since and I can only say that I agree that the 3.2 Quattro is superb and the grip outstanding in the wet. I have the Pirelli Pzero Rossos on mine.

An absolutely outstanding car :D
