Anyone's window glass squeak/rattle?
 

My window sort of creaks at the top (driver's roll-down window) and the shop wants $$$$$$ just to investigate. Anyone else have this problem , or have it repaired?

I actually don't think it's the rubber weatherstripping at the top causing it. I can INDUCE the creaking by pushing lightly on the window, but although I hear it at the top, I think it's something in the door itself causing the problem and the glass is simply transmitting the sound :)

Mine completely stopped working one day, nearly sharted myself, cause it was the rainy season in miami.
Next day she was fine, i say bring her in let the techs look at it

Mine makes the same noise. If i lower the window the width of one RCH, the creaking goes away.

When i notice the creaking, i just drive faster to drown it out.

but seriously...this and the sirius tuner bouncing in the boot are my only complaints. That and the fact that the A3 was listed as one of the top ten 'chick' cars last night on the show 'test drive' on mojo

Me too - if I lower it AT ALL , it's silent. I wouldn't complain but you know, it's like 2 inches from my ear so hard to ignore :)

You have and '06 take it to the dealer and go for the test drive with them so they can hear it. That way they can't say it wasn't duplicated. It's under warranty!

Apparently Audi's warranty only covers broken parts. ADJUSTMENTS (tightening loose screws, bolts, etc., realigning a window, and so on) are not covered past 6 months.

There all all kinds of threads about it in other forums. I just ordered some for myself, and I've heard nothing but good about it. In the meantime, the local Bimmer dealer sold me a $7 bottle of Wurth seal conditioner and it's done fairly well, too.

I initially thought the noise was in the door panel, and it sounded like a hard surface rattling or tapping. Out of desperation I got the Wurth stuff and greased the bejeezus out of every seal - between the window and sill on all sides, then opened the door and got the entire door seal too. Not sure where exactly the sound originated, but I definitely got it.

Another thing I read on either AudiWorld or Fourtitude is to try opening the door and holding it stationary while giving the top of the window frame a couple of firm nudges with my hand, away from the car...something about the frame being a separate piece and sometimes it just needs a slight movement. This makes sense - notice when you roll down the window a tiny bit to stop the noise, the top of the frame actually moves outward a tiny bit.
