Default Armrest wearing a spot on the parking brake leather?

Hey all,

Did a search and didn't find anything. I noticed today that the leather on the topside, rear-most part of the e-brake is getting worn through by the armrest. Looks like when the armrest is in the fully lowered position and the handbrake is released, that it is able to make contact. Either that or the pressure of my arm on the armrest is maybe also enough for it to rub.

Anyone else see anything like this? Wondering if I can convince the dealer to do something about it.

WOW! thats a new one. The only time my hand brake even is close to the arm rest is when its pulled up and then even with the armrest full down it still doesn't rub. I would really have to pull my e-brake all the way up to have it touch and thats a hard act to do.

I prefer my adjustable armrest to be in the lowest position, given that the car is a manual transmission. When I set the handbrake, it pushes the armrest up to the next position. I then have to pull the armrest up to 90 degrees, and then lower to reset it. A pain. Poor design is an understatement. I can see how over time the leather on the handbrake would show wear. Good luck with the dealer.

Same problem here. My handbrake was worn pretty bad, but it "magically" became loose one day. Dealer replaced it with no problem.

As a matter of fact, tech also filed the sharp under edges of the armrest to help prevent the wear going forward..
