I'm sharing my purchase with you guys - I recently bought this 2023 Audi A3 8Y s-line 40 TDI quattro. My previous car was a 2007 Audi A3 8P 2.0 TDI, which although it only had 140hp felt a bit more "aggressive" in driving than a 35 8y I had test-driven. I wanted to get the 40 TDI version because I wanted more horsepower than the 35.
This car is from June 2023 and has 18000 km (11200 mi). I wanted the pre-facelift version as I don't like the new 2D logos and front grill of the 8.5Y, so I figured it was a good deal since there was no way to order it new. I love this car: the engine and driving dynamics are great, and coming from an 8P I also love the tech.
The only thing that hurts a bit is it's missing a few options that I would've loved to get: it doesn't have matrix headlights (it's got the full LED ones), the rearview camera (but it has the front and rear parking sensor), side assist, active lane assist, and HUD.
I've contacted Audi and they told me the only thing they can retrofit for me is the rearview camera, which'll be around € 800 including labor. I think I'll probably get it, but I want to confirm that'll enable rear cross-traffic alert as well first, and will probably also get the high beams assistant from FOD at least since I can't get the matrix.
Overall I'm really happy with the car, since it's always been my (realistic) dream car!
