Audi A3 Year 2003 1.6Litre Radiator Fans not Working

Stuck in traffic the temperature Gauge went up from the set 90 Degrees Centigrade to about 104 Degrees Centigrade.
Checked the fuse which sits on top of the battery compartment - Found it was pitted & burnt on one end due to arching, cleaned the contacts using emery cloth. Re inserted the fuse the fans came back to life with the A/C on and when the temperature went above 103 Degrees Centigrade.

After a few days the fans stopped working, all the fuses are ok.
I have been looking at the Circuit diagram of the A/C unit which is linked to the radiator fans and cannot find the radiator control switch. The only switch I think I found has 2 poles as this is located on the left side of the radiator right at the bottom.
When I remove the plug to the sensor / switch the fans kick in. So Im not too sure if this is the radiator fan control switch ? I tried shorting the 2 contacts but the rads do not kick in but on unplugging the unit the radiators kick in.

Before I start looking into the A/C Radiator fan control unit I wanted to carry out some fault finding.

Could someone please advise where I can find a three pin radiator control switch for an audio A3 2003 model 1.6 to progress with testing?

I had the Same issue with my 1.8, the fan controller is situated under the battery bolted to the sub frame, it should have a part number on it, replace that and it should solve the issue.

Try first to clean all the cable connections going from the battery + the fuse box on the battery. Should be shiny. For better oxidation repelant use some mechanical grease (make sure its not conductive lol) and cover all the electrical connections with it, so air won't get it and it won't oxidize as much
