Default Bluetooth Module Failed

Hello - new member here with a problem.

I have a 2007 A3 with the Symphony radio, navigation and bluetooth phone package. One day, my iPhone suddenly stopped communicating with my car. I took it to the dealer who told me my bluetooth module had failed and quoted me a rather expensive bill to repair - roughly $700 for parts and labor.

I feel this is the kind of repair I can attempt myself. Can anyone tell me where I might be able to buy the module at a discount? Also, are there any on-line instructions on how to swap out the new module with the old?

Perhaps alternatively, I have a the phone cradle connection in my armrest. Is it possible to buy a cradle for my iPhone that will work with this system? It feels as though this might be a less expensive alternative to the bluetooth module replacement but I'm not sure about functionality. Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for any assistance and for helping a newbie to these forums!
