RE: CAI
I think you'll find that it voids the warranty for the air intake only, not the whole car... well that is what I have read in these forums anyway.
As for brands I am just a newbie so I don't really know right from left atm with whats better than what. But again from what I have read here there a few few CAI brands to look at:
APR Carbonio: http://www.goapr.com/Audi/products/i...onio_8pa3.html
K&N: http://www.knfilters.com/default.htm, but they don't have a product released yet... soon I hear.
Evolution Motors: here
ATP: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=BCS
Thats about it I think...

RE: CAI
modifications, don't void the whole cars warrenty
ie, if you get suspension, it won't void the motor, and vice versus
but getting an intake if not installed by the dealership can void the warrenty of the motor, cause it is directly tied into the motor
now if you get an issue you can take it off put the factory airbox back in and go get it fixed or take your chances that the service writter/mechanic are cool and will "look" the other way
all in all if you are worried about your warrenty, don't mod or keep your factory parts for replacement
i know a guy that changed bulbs in his headlight and the dealership said that voided the warrenty cause the headlight was off the truck and they didn't do it [sm=boosign.gif]
