Can't get my service indicator to reset
I must be missing something, I tried every possible thing I can think of to get my service indicator to reset but it is not working. I have an 09 A3 2.0. I pull out the right trip reset button, it says service overdue, I hold it, then it resets and says next service in xxx miles and then I let go. But the service due will still pop up after this. What am I missing?

Service Reminder Reset
Go to forum tools and type in "service reminder." Doing so will take you to several threads that will tell you what to do. I had the same problem you described and someone helped me solve it before--it's posted in one of the threads.

Ive read your post. It doesn't work for me. Pusing the RH stalk just resets my current trip and does not bring up the service indicator.

Reset Service interval
I did the following (from the owners manual) to mine this afternoon after a 35K oil/filter change yesterday. It worked and reset the service indicator for 10K miles.
"-Switch the ignition on. - When the knob (right knob next to speedometer) is pulled, this message appeared "service" -Pull the knob until SERVICE IN --- MI (KM)--DAYS appears in the display. If the reset button is not pushed within five seconds, the display reset mode changes." Hope this works for you. |
Little confused as to what this part means "If the reset button is not pushed within five seconds, the display reset mode changes."
Does that mean I should push the reset button within 5 seconds? Pull the knob, wait till the next service indicator pops up, let go and press the reset button? Why are the instructions so vague? And while we are on it, which one is the reset button? Thanks |
Service Interval Reset
It is confusing. I was just quoting the manual. And, you're right it is vague.
The "reset" button is the one on the bottom of the right stalk off the steering column. To make my system reset, I pulled the knob (the right knob on the speedometer) out as per the instructions till the message appeared, then I pressed up on the reset button (on the right stalk). Doing so made the service interval reset for 10K miles. Hope this works for you. As I said, it is confusing. |
