I bought a 2006 A3 couple of days ago and today when I came of of a store at a mall and it wouldn't start. There were no indications of any problems prior to that at all. I had been driving it all day and all of a sudden it didn't want to start. It was not the battery because there was power to everything and it cranked. But it just didn't want to fire.

It is on a flat bed truck now on its way to the dealership. It has 20,000 miles on it and it is the 2.0T 6 MT. The tow truck driver tried to start it a couple of times and was of the opinion that somehow the programming on my key fob had gotten screwed up and the security system had kicked in and was preventing the car from starting.

Any idea what is going on?
