first creak sound from headliner/sunroof area!
Just went over 2000 miles on my new A3. and now a creak has developed somewhere above and to the right of the driver. could be the sunroof, but i'm not sure since the sound occurs whether the sunroof is open or closed. any little bump on the road will cause the creaking sound. it's extremeley annoying, i'm going to continue to explore further and let yall know what i turn up.

ME too on my new a3. this is fast becoming a serious issue as ive seen several people with the sportbacks complaining about the noise with the opensky. the dealer says its nothing but it most certainly is!!! if eveybody is having the same problem. A recall may be in order.

The creak has disappeared ! About 2 weeks after I first heard it, it's completely gone. Let's hope it stays that way. I suspect some water/moisture got in somewhere and it took a while to dry up.

RE: first creak sound from headliner/sunroof area!
I have the opensky system on my 2006 A3. My sunroof was creaking the day I drove it home. I couldn't figure out what was causing the creaking but it drove me absolutely crazy. I realized that the creaking was worse when it was hot outside (I live in LA). I have taken the car into the dealer 3 times (I bought the car about 1 month ago). They did not get anything accomplished the first two times but the last fix got the problem about 85%. It still creaks but not nearly as much. They told me they put some insulation in. Where? I don't know. But it helped. Bottom line is that this is a crappy problem and it has seriously soured my feelings towards Audi (this is my third). Don't think I'll get one again even though I love the A3 otherwise.

I've got almost 3000 miles on mine, no creaking.
To my man AND TWO if you live in Texas i would suggest not to get the open sky unless you like the sun beating down on your head.
i'ts a nice feature if you like the sun and heat coming from that glass, here in miami its bad. The other reason i dont like it is because i shave my head, so i really feel the heat. Other then that the car is awesome.
