Hey. I've read somewhere that the type was H7's. Upgradeable with the PIAA's 17655's - 55W Xtreme White Plus.
I have not yet done this and was just waiting on some slightly warmer weather since my garage is not climate controlled. Is there that much of a difference betweent the H7's and the H11's. Would it be wrong to go with the H7's as recommened? Anyone else know?

The H7 is used for headlights, the H11 is used for foglights for A3 sportback.
I'm sure there other brands with different pn's.

Hey - JohnS
Thanks for setting me straight. That saved me some frustration. Would have really hated to get the wrong bulbs - get the foglight assembly open and then found out I screwed up. So far that's one round on me.

RE: fog light size
I have a '07 S-Line 2.0 and I too thought it was a H7 bulb until I spend a crap load of time taking out the front fog light grille and casing ('06s have those 2 tabs, us 07s don't) and found out they were H11s.
Currently Silvania doesn't make H11 for their Silverstar lineup so will need to do PIAAS if I want to change them out.
Futhermore, can anyone PM with instructions on how to properly swap out the passenger side fog for the 07 S-Line? It looks like I need to raise up the car in order to reach it from the bottom...

07' S-line uses H11 blubs. i currently use Nokya H11 white. they look excellent. i think it's on par with Piaa but cheaper.
grill houseing is very easy to remove without jacking up the car. all you need to do is pull on the fogs grill housing toward you!
there are total of 6 tabs. 3 on the top, 3 on the bottom.
when finished, set the top 3 tabs first, then snap it back in. Make sure you hear the tabs locks in to the bumper.
and all done!
