Default Is This a Good Deal?...Need Help

Newbie here. First post. I have read alot about the A3 and am interested in buying one. I have an Infiniti M35 now and hate the thing. As a former BMW owner, I want to get back to German made cars.

I found a used A3 being sold by a local used car dealer (not an Audi dealer):
2006 2.0 DSG, Sport, Premium, Cold Weather, Open Sky, Bose.
Red with black interior. 9,625 miles.

The guy is asking $24,500 but I might be able to talk him down. Is this a good deal? Is there a significant difference in 2007's that should restrain me from looking at 2006's?

Thanks for any input!

One more note...both KBB and NADA show retail value as $2,000 higher than the $24,500 the dealer is asking...almost makes me think something is wrong.

Nothing wrong - that's about what they bring. '08s are almost here, and an '06 that 's Audi certified with 100k warranty brings about 26. the car you're looking at should be about 24. It was over 30 new, and yes, the maintenance comes with all '06s.
There are no significant differences between '06 and '07, but the car can't have both Premium and sport packages - it's one or the other. All silver vent rings= sport, half silver=premium.Make sure that the car has full function driver info display, switchable from the right stalk.

Hesa- thanks for the reply. So the dealer is not correct saying it has both premium and sport? So if the vent rings are all silver, it won't have auto dimming mirror, power seat, etc?

Correct. I forget all the differences, but an'06Sport has sport suspension, bi-color wheels, manual sport seats, leather, sport steering wheel with radio controls, all silver vent rings, more pronounced roof spoiler. I think maybe the auto dim mirror, homelink, and auto lights came on convenience package, but I'm not sure- I don't have an '06.Check for Xenon lights and winter package -both are nice to have.
