Have you replaced your HU?
I am curious about how many people have changed their HU...
I really want a better iPod interface, but I can't part with the clean look I have now... I just stumbled upon cardomain.com and wasn't at all impressed with the pics of what it is going to look like after (not to mention I am weary about loosing the steering wheel controls). It is clear though a lot of people on that site don't have taste... or at least what I would consider taste... some of the stuff is real cheesy in my opinion. Can you post some pics if you've replaced your HU and think it is a clean/prof install. |

I actually just installed an Alpine a few days ago. I'm out of town right now, but I will definitely post some pics next week when I get home.

I'm still trying to figure out what a HU is.

RE: Have you replaced your HU?
Head unit? The thing that sticks into your dash and has all the knobs and buttons to control your music and other stuff. As distinct from speakers or amplifier or subwoofer or other stuff I don't even know about.
How's that for a technical explanation! |
RE: Have you replaced your HU?
Why not just add a Dice Ipod connector and you can use all of the standard controls to control your ipod. I am using an AUDI-R from Dice and it works great.

the unit itself retails at 1000... with the dash kit, harness, antenna adapter, and sirius tuner, that added another couple hundred...
