Help~ Crappy LED license plate lights
Okay i've been buying, returning, exchaging the LED bulbs for three times. But every time i had them installed, they just lit up for couple seconds and then went off... i noticed thatb4 the lights went off, they kinda flashed a little. So i thought it was probably the voltage that's doing the trick.
So does anybody know what's wrong with those bulbs??
for those who installed the LED bulbs successfully, whichkind/brand of bulbs did you guys buy??
Here's the bulbs i bought... (should've asked ppl what they used first...)

RE: Help~ Crappy LED license plate lights
from what i know you need to add a inline resistor, and the problem is, that might add excessive heat to the small space you put it in. i do remember running across some leds with built in resistors, but as you can imagine ,that might spell trouble heat+light+smallspace+expensive parts.
i ended up just saying forget it.
ive had several friends that have permanently broke/shorted their license plate assemblies on the A3, A4, Mercedes E350. I wouldnt mess around with it too much.

thanks man.
and i'm gonna answer my own question here... har
I also found some info regrading this.
apparetly, we need a 6 OHM, 50 watt Load Equalizer
something like this: http://superlumination.com/images/le..._equalizer.jpg
the whole story can be found here:

I'm not so sure if it's the same for A3, but since itscalled VAG... i assumed they are.
anyways... has any of our A3 fellows here did the LED bulbs swap?? share your experience with us,plz

RE: Help~ Crappy LED license plate lights
Does anyone understand what the LED flashers are??
so we wouldn't need the Load Equalizer if we had the flashers??
