Help with Bluetooth Connection
Hi all, I just bought an A3 with the following options:
S-line Technology Audi Nav plus Open Sky Now I want to setup bluetooth with my phone so I looked at the manual. It says I need the "Cell phone package"? What is that? Are they talking about the cell phone cradle? Is it suppose to come with the Technology package? I do no have the cell phone cradle. Thanks. |

RE: Help with Bluetooth Connection
If you lift up your arm rest, there is like some sort of connection. I believe you can buy a cell phone cradle and connect to it, then have your your cell phone connect to that cradle. I think that is the cell phone package.
I don't know why anyone would want that since just about all phones now have bluetooth |
RE: Help with Bluetooth Connection
I think I read that it connects your phone to a cell antenna in the "fin", which would get you better reception. Power is also provided, so no seperate charger needed, and hard connections are more reliable than bluetooth.
Bluetooth is great in principle, but so manydevices don't implement it well. My phone freaks out with the bluetooth connection when it isn't hooked up to itscharger. It disconnects and connects at odd intervals and that stupid bluetooth notification sound is very irritating as it interrupts the stereo. The nav system can mix with the audio, the chime should too . . .and it doesn't really need all that dead space around the actual sound either. ;) If there was a compatible cradle for my phone, I would totally use it in preference to the bluetooth + bulky car charger. |

RE: Help with Bluetooth Connection
Does anyone know a work around the connect/disconnect problem that matt17 mentions?

RE: Help with Bluetooth Connection
If you have an iPhone, simply upgrade the firmware through iTunes.
Else, hooking it up to a charger might fix the issue as it overrides the power save function that can be the cause for frequent disconnects. |
RE: Help with Bluetooth Connection
Chief,
Thanks for suggestion. Makes perfect sense that it would fix the problem, however, my treo is still drops off and comes back on every minute or so. I'm gonna keep messing with it. ~W |
