Hi everyone. Last week I became the proud owner of a 2005 1.6 a3. I love it!

Unfortunately, the car came with no manuals whatsoever.

I wonder if anyone could help me with something.

I have attached a picture i just took of my instrument panel. The central LED display in the center is blank, except for P,R,N,D,S gear indicators. I've seen and read that you can get it to display things like avrg. mpg, speed and other useful stuff. Because I have no manual, I can't find a way of doing this.

I've fiddled around with the two buttons on the left and right (pulling up, down, left and right in different combinations) and managed to set the time and date, but that's it.

I would really appreciate any help or instructions, guys.

some cars simply did not come with those extra features. i have a 2006 a3 2.0t, and those features only came on the cars with navi (i think though could be wrong). so my dash doesn't have that info. there are people however who used vag-com to add those features --- it also requires changing out the wiper stalk for some reason. do a search.
