Just got the REVO chip - impressions
I thought I would share my impression of my first 40 miles with the REVO reflash. My car is a 2008 A3 with DSG and about 300 miles on it.
Anyway, I had thought that with 50% more torque I would feel a SERIOUS difference in power. It is much more subtle than that. I actually thought that the flash hadn't worked and took it back, but the tuner confirmed that boost was up to 20 psi. The car does have better power for day to day driving. It definitely has more gumption on the highway, and some more oomph when getting up and going as well. However, I didn't think "holy S%$# is that a lot more power". Overall, it makes the A3 a better rounded car, but it is FAR from being fast.
If anyone has any other results that differ I would be interested to hear about them. Perhaps the tuner installed it wrong??

Usually it takes a little while for your ECU to get used to the chip. Took my car about 2-3 days to finally peak in performace and wow is it insane. Once you know your cars fully used to it you'll definatly feel the difference. Switch it over to the paddles/sport mode, you will feel the biggest difference there. Trust me, in a few days you will have a totally different post

RE: Just got the REVO chip - impressions
I'm with FusionX on the paddles...
After I chipped my TDI with 'superchips' I was impressed with the car in D or S mostly because of the smoother shifts. But when I throw it over to the paddles, the difference in torque REALLY becomes apparent! I have no idea why that is! Another thing I've noticed, with a TDI a least where torque is carried from 1600rpm through to 3500 then begins falling, the S mode which carries the gear through to redline (4500RPM) is slower at accelerating than D, and much slower than paddles where I can shift when moving out of the torque band.
But...chipping a TDI is a sick experience! Wonder what it's like with the FSI that has more HP to begin with!

I did the 5 hr test drive and had the same inpressions as you so I opted to wait on paying the additional $450 until I had money to burn. If it really does end up being better as time goes on be sure and repost. I am still contemplating getting chipped permanently.
