More about roof racks
 

So I made an effort to get the OEM A3 racks and they don't seem to be compatible with my Thule box. That really sucks.

Anyway, looks like I'm selling some if anyone is interested ($200)

Anyone have any experience with wither Thule or Rhino racks? I'm leaning towards rhino because they are cheaper and have a higher load capacity (165lbs vs 110 for Thule).

Do any of you have any experience with racks for the A3?

I've got a Thule rack on our A3 for carrying bikes. Works perfectly.

Yeah, I broke down and bought the 53" Aero racks. Total $350. Ouch. I thought buying Audi brand was a better idea - they look great but if it can't carry my cargo box then it's not of much use to me.

Do you still have the racks? Are they new? What is the part #? I have a 2011 A3 w/o rails. Just wanted to make sure they would fit.

Nah, I dumped them on craiglist. The audi bars are crap. I'm quite happy with the Thule. Check out this thread:
