I just bought a second hand A3, 2005 2.0 TDI SE. The central DIS doesn't display any information, i.e. temp, miles left before refill, radio etc, the only thing I've seen in the central unit is a small car icon when the door is open and the fuel symbol to refill. The other warning lights on the rev counter and Speedo function as you start the car, hand brake light ect, but while driving nothing is in the display centrally. After doing a little research I believe some Audi's come with DIS and others don't is this true? Also on my wiper stalk there is no additional switch or reset button. So my question is there a fault somewhere? or if it's a Non DIS model, can I get DIS activated by changing the stalk etc? Thank you in Advance for your kind replies.

 

that looks like the VW DIS, where all the icons are located instead of around the speedo and tach. Usually, there is the option of getting the stalk, but if you display shows these multicolor icons, they it can't also have a monochrome dot matrix display
