Neuspeed Anyone?

Hey all. After reading many threads here, I haven't seen anyone else with a NEUSPEED EMU (ECU). I see a lot of APR's and I'm starting to think I may have made a mistake. I'm really happy with the performance increase since the mod, but I'm wondering why I don't see more out there. Anyone heard anything good / bad about Neuspeed vs. APR?

Don't know much about it? Also, I don't know of anyone in our group around the area that has Neuspeed. Sorry. If you enjoy it, then smile and keep cruising.

Cheers!

I am also curious about the Neuspeed tune. It's funny you bring it up, because a friend of mine who has an A4 was just asking me a couple days ago if Neuspeed had a tune for the A3-- I said, "I think so, but I've never heard of anyone that has it..."

Well your post got me thinking so I went to check it out on their site. They don't really say much. Most of the popular tunes allow you to have more than one program or "stage" that can be changed in a few seconds. For example, you may want to keep your stock tune but also have a 93 or 100+ octane program as well. Does Neuspeed offer this? The only thing I could tell from their site is that they dyno'ed on 91 octane.

As far as I know, Neuspeed makes only one ECU for 91 octane. It cannot be turned off from the cockpit like the APR, but Neuspeed will remove and re-flash it for a mimimal charge $25.00 if you need to get it back to stock for a dealer visit. I had it done at Neuspeed as I work around the corner from them. Not sure if other vendors offering the Neuspeed EMU will offer the same service. As I stated before, I am very happy with the performance increase after the upgrade - huge difference in HP and torque. I would recommend it - but I don't have anything to compare it to. Hope that helps.

I seem to remember when i was researching what chip to buy that the Neuspeed didnt make quite as much power as APR and Revo. But the main thing in my decision was APR's simple ability to switch programs, no tools needed and dealer lockout feature.

And APR and REVO has been around longer than Neuspeeds when it comes to ECU reflashing/chips

I have the Neuspeed chip. Very smooth power, wide torque band. I believe it makes 257 HP with 297 ft/lbs torque. My favorite is toopen it upon an uphill freeway ramp. Front tires fighting for traction, but once it grabs, oh so swift. I would highlyrecommend this.
