Right im a new face on here so go easy

Im looking for a Audi A3 Sport in Mauve/Puple

What insurance group are they?
What BHP are the standerd? How easy are they to upgrade?
Whats the biggist size rim i can use on a A3 and how much drop can they take? Im not going for massive rims i just want to know whats possible.

Basicly just need some info on what can be done with them

is there anything i need to look out for when im buying a A3? how much am i expecting to pay?

The purple color was an option for '06, but discontinued thereafter.

I hear folks with 19" wheels can get scraping problems, but I don't know from first hand experience.

I think the type of car your insurance classifies the A3 as depends on the insurance company--best bet would be just to call up yours and ask.

As for what you can expect to pay, there's a wealth of information online, e.g., from Edmunds and KBB, and their estimates are going to be much better than what I can tell you. (Other experts on this forum may be better, though.)

I would love to help you - but, I don't know anything about the A3's with the steering wheel on the passenger side. I'm hoping that our fellow members on that side of the pond can help you out better. Kind of like: my football team is the Baltimore Ravens and your football team is probably ManU.

If you mean "Venetian Violet", as zlguocius said, it was discontinued in 2007 (at least in North America). So what do you have to look out for? Low resale value (for this color). Which may be good for you if you are buying it now.

What do i need to look out for on this model A3?

also i want to lower it a bit so it looks nicer, how much should i lower it by to suit 17"/18" rims

What shocks should i go for? and what size tyres for minimal rubbing? I dont mind a bit of rubbing on full lock to be fair.

Also what tasteful style acessories can be bought for the A3?

Im new on the scene so not too sure whats about for them

I don't know if they make those wheels with a diff bolt pattern...but THOSE wheels won't work for you. Those are 4/108 .....A3 is 5/112

whats the most popular wheel option on the a3?

 

18" seems to be the most popular size for the aftermarket A3 wheels. Can't remember the offset off the top of my head. I haven't switched out my wheels....yet. Check out tirerack.

Sorry, I did not take into account that you are looking at a 2003 model. I am not familiar with those at all since we did not get them on this side of the pond until MY '06. [sm=imsorry.gif] Hopefully somebody else on here knows more about theprevious gen A3's and can be of better assistance.
