Default Newbie Post - XM Sat Radio and Trip Computer Hack

Greetings all,

I am a long time Rennlister, and just sold off all my P-Cars and now have the fantastic A3. So on to the first questions:

I want to install the XM Sat module, has anyone done this and did you encounter any issues / problems? I have the standard Concert II head unit.

I want to enable the Trip Computer functions. I found a post on another forum about needing a VAG-COM tool to do this. Has anyone done this hack? Are there any links out there with instructions? On my Boxster, it just took a couple of rewires to enable the Trip Computer. This seems easy if you have the VAG-Com tool.

Thanks in advance!!

Hey,

I didn't know that it was possible to enable the trip computer afterwards, if you didn't have that feature. But I guess in hindsight it makes sense.. Now I'm interested to know how as well.

What happens to the waranty if you enable the trip comp? I'm thinking if they don't know.. nothing..

I pinged a guy that had asked a similar question on another forum. If he gives me good info, I will pass it along....
