No Heating
 

Hi All, Happy New Year

I have 98 1.8T and the heating has kinda stopped working. No matter what I do I can't seem to get the air to blow through any of the vents. I think it is to do with the fan, as once the car is warm and your are moving you can feel heat being pushed through by the movement of the car. This is not much and not much use on a cold morning.

I am a total novice when it comes to cars. Please does anyone have any suggestions

well, can you hear what sounds like a fan when your messing with the controles. you should be able to do this without the car running but in the on mode to help you here. if not, try looking in the fuse box for blower, or fan, or just start going through them untile you find one thats out. If all this fails, I think you awt to take it to a shop and have them look at it.

I had a car electrician check out the car. He could find nothing wrong initially. However after giving the blower motor a bit of a bash it started to work. It is now working but who knows how long for. I guess if it goes again I will just get a new motor.
