poor fuel economy

I have a 2008 A3 with 40,250mi. Recently I have been getting really poor MPG.
I got 120 miles from a half tank when i would usually get closer to 200. I took to the dealership and they said that the computer checked out OK and I must have gotten bad gas. So I finished off that tank and then refilled and added a fuel additive. Still low MPG.. My neighbor across the street had a 2003 VW Golf for a while and he said that it sounds like a O2 sensor has gone bad since I smelled gas when I started the car yesterday. I just hate to drive 30 minutes to the dealership for something little.. It's still under warrenty and I think it's due for a tune up at 45k.. But that's a long ways off to waste $$ on gas

I took it in to one dealership in my area and they scanned the computer and said everythings normal... I didn't buy it and call Audi USA. They suggested that I take it to another dealership across town. The 2nd dealership poked at it for a couple hours and couldn't find anything wrong. The service manager told me to call him every time that I refuelled and give him the MPG. I called him yesterday to report my MPG and he suggested that I come in for them to check the 'block" and fuel trim.. He said that it was in spec and that my problems might be with winter gas and not having a cold winter. It could explain part of the issue but it all started in Sept with my car not starting and having to be towed to the 1st dealership to get part of the high pressure fuel system replaced... Something got messed up some how cause I used to get 25/30 and when this crap started I was getting 12-14 mpg..now I get 18/24...

Thinking about trading it in or looking into the lemon law...

my thermometer was going out, which caused me to use more gas -- has your temperature been running cold?
