SatNav - they're joking!
Just ordered a new A3 - but opted to not buy the in-car SatNav. Why? Because I've been told by Audi UK that the cost of getting a map update would be about £350-£400 each time!!!!!!
Who's having a laugh?
A new TomTom 6100 with lifetime map updates etc etc is under £300.
I would like to credit the Audi group with the commercial sense to recognise a good deal when they see one.
Very few people buy the in-car SatNav and even fewer ever get the maps updated so the cost person of doing the upgrades is stupidly high.
But if Audi did a deal with TomTom then unit costs would plummet and Audi drivers would get a better and regularly updated system at a far better price.
Everyone could win.
So, come-on Audi. Do a deal with TomTom.
