Siren sound on my A3
Hi guys,
I am new to this forum, I brought an A3 TDI sport 2.0 diesel (2006) yesterday it has done approx 75000 miles, I have noticed a a feint noise which sounds like a siren from a police car, this mainly happens when the Rev meter comes down.
I have read a few mixed pieces about this on google, i know it has been heard on many of the A3's and other audi models. Does anyone know what it could be/had it before? Will it be expensive to repair?
I will be using the car to commute 20 miles each day, do you guys think it will be safe? or should I worry about a sudden engine failure or some other big prob? I know some A3 drivers just carry on drivng normally with no problem despite the siren!!
Other than the sound the car actually drives fine, gears change smoothly etc. I will most likely get it checked out in the next couple of weeks anyway, but any advice would be much appreicated.
