Smell petrol in oil!!!

HI I HAVE AN AUDI A3 2.0 T FSi S line Special Edition, 3 Doors, Manual, Hatchback, Petrol, 06 Reg. ON CHECKING DIP STICK FOUND A STRONG SMELL OF PETROL COMING FROM THE OIL. ANY IDEAS WHAT THIS COULD BE?
