sport to drive

is it suggested/recommended to switch from sport mode to drive when the car is in motion? i like driving in sport mode alot, but sometimes when i turn onto the highway, i don't want it to be stuck at such a high rpm for so long to conserve gas. so would it hurt the car if i just shift into drive mode?

No, it won't hurt anything to switch back and forth as needed. I have found it advanageous to start out in sport when I need power and shift to drive once I've gotten to my cruising speed.

you could always just tap the paddle shifter to upshift once on the highway.

I thought so too, and tried that the other day. I found that the car will go back to Sport (5th gear) on the least bit of throttle. It doesn't like to hold 6th gear in Sport mode unless the speed is much more than typical highway speeds.

I see, well thats what drive is for, and no, it wont hurt it one bit to shift back and forth to suit your current needs....

Yeah, after the reflash it's hard to start in D perfectly if you are in a hurry. If you press on the gas "normally", it tends to upshift a tad too quickly. If you nail the gas, you get some wheelspin.

Man-it seems DSG is MORE complicated to operate than a 6 speed...

Good question...
I don't have a digi cam but I'm sure I can get a few up soon. I think you all will be surprised how agressive the kit is.
