Sudden loss of power and throwing P2257
2010 A3 2.0T PP Sport Line 51k miles had thrown P2440 before and that got 'patched' - very small rupture in secondary air hose, plugged up with electrical tape and duct tape temporarily. Code went away - never had performance issues at all.
Not a few days later EPC comes on momentarily then goes out and engine light comes , with erratic RPM behavior at idle. While driving, substantial loss of power, engine won't 'push' on demand, accelerator pedal only produces enough to slowly accelerate.
Checked OBD at mechanic, shows P2257 Secondary Air Injection System Control A Circuit Low - which according to the mechanic should not affect performance.
Any clues if they are related at all or what else could be happening? Another odd thing that happened was that the replace bulb warning sign came on about 3 times in the last 3 weeks but upon engine restart no problems. Oddly enough, happened at the same time as the EPC/engine light/power loss this last time.
Gracias.
