Test Drives

Hi all, I'm not a A3 owner yet but I may become one after today. I test drove an Acura TSX, nice inside, good quality, but SLLOOWW. I also drove an Infiniti G35 Sedan, and loved it, put an offer in, but the dealer is the only one in eastern Canada, and WOULD NOT DEAL. I'm currently driving a 2002 Maxima, 255 HP, so I want something with a bit of speed. Anyway I drove a 2006 A3 today, not really expecting much, but was I surprised, in a nice way. What a nice ride, firm and lets you feel the road, and pretty good power. I would have to get the DSG, as my wife doesn't drive standard. I'm not sure how the dealer is here for negociating, but heres hoping. I'll update if anything happens. Interesting reading here..

RE: Test Drives

i drove a a3 manual and was amazed at how light and precise the gear change was. Like a motorcycle. I did not like how little pressure the accelator pedal took and it would be nice if there was pedal adjustment as it felt strange. Overall it rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was debating between an a3 3.2 or an a4 avant 32 manual but the a4 is 3900 pounds so that's not happening. No doubt these are pricey. A wrx sti is 30 k ///this thing is going to be 35+. Thing is i drove a wrx and it sucked. All nervous/darty steering, sit around and wait for the powerband to kick in and then hope you can maintain control, cheapo interior and check this out
