Default are there any precautions concerning tire rotation on 3.2Q?

I have had a 4x4 before (Opel calibra turbo)and rotating the tires was a very dangerous matter.if you waited a bit to long rotating them it would create tension in the drive traindue to thedifferent diameters of the tires, with as final result a blown rear diff. clutch.(very expensive!)now my question is: how about my A3 any precautions to take?

On a related note, does anyone know if the stock Pirelli all seasons are directional? Thanks

You wont cause any problems by rotating the tires. Just rotate front to back. I dont think those tires are dirrectional. Its easy to check. If they are dirrectional they will have arrows on the sides showing dirrection or they will say left and right. I think those tires just have an inside and outside with isnt directional.
