Timing belt A3
#2
The factory recommendation for timing belt replacement is 105,000 miles, but that seems long to me.
OTOH, I just had my intake camshaft replaced (along with the fuel pump and follower) at 71K. The mechanic looked at the timing belt and thought it looked fine.
I plan on replacing it around 85-90K.

Def change timing belt before 105,000 mls. I would recommend changine at 60-70,000 miles. Also change all tensioners and water pump. Full kit includes belt, tensioners, water pump etc. The price of change is mainly down to labour so when the engine is taken apart to change belt you might aswell change pump also.
