Torque Steer on Chipped A3?...
Once I buy my A3 2.0, my first step will be an APR chip.
How bad is torque steer when you chip your 2.0? Thanks! |
RE: Torque Steer on Chipped A3?...
As long as you're going straight, fine ;)
But seriously, it's noticeable but not rip-the-wheel-from-your-hands bad. |
RE: Torque Steer on Chipped A3?...
Not bad at all. Just enough to hold your attention, make things fun.

RE: Torque Steer on Chipped A3?...
Yep!
Go ahead and buy a LSD too and you won't notice the torque steer. Cheers! |

Don't give it a second thought. It will be the best $5-600 you'll spend on your car. Torque shmorque.

RE: Torque Steer on Chipped A3?...
So what chip is better, the neuspeed or the APR one?
|
RE: Torque Steer on Chipped A3?...
That is an interesting question... I cannot speak for the APR, but I can tell you that the Neuspeed ECU is excellent. I have had no trouble, and the performance is exceptional. I have talked at length with Neuspeed engineers and have been told why (they think) there system is superior. I'm sure APR would tell me the opposite. I think there is propaganda on both sides. My suggestion would be to hook up with some ppl who have each one, or get some tuner's oppinions. Beware though, tuners often have their own biases, not based on performance. I can confirm that the Neuspeed is solid, and will at worst give you perma-grin. As there are a lot of APR ECU's in this forum, I will tread lightly, and brace myself for the flames. Whichever you choose, do it!
