Trading in my 2009 A3 for...
...a 2012 A3! However, I haven't totally made up my mind. I have a low mileage 2009 (26K) that I have owned for 7 months. I love the car, but I bought it used and it does not have some options that I have wanted (Premium Plus, Cold Weather). However, what it does have is the Open Sky sunroof. I found a black 2012 A3 2.0T Sportronic with 30 miles on it at a local dealer. It has the Premium Plus and the Cold Weather, plus the all weather floor mats. I put a small deposit on it for them to hold the car while I decide if I want to pull the trigger on it. The 2012 however, does NOT have the open sky. Do you guys think I will miss the open sky, or would you not worry about it???

It all depends on how much you use it.
I use to have a car and opted not to have a sunroof. All that time, I thought, man, I could use a sunroof now. On the A3, originally, I just wanted quattro and sports seats. Didn't want opensky, xenon, V6, nav, but I got them all. I enjoyed the sunroof on some days, but not sure if I ever thought some situations where I couldn't have lived without it.
It's not like a convertible where the experience is day and night. The opening for the opensky is a bit small so you don't get immersed in an open air feeling.

I'm the OP of the thread and am bringing this old post up to make a correction. I traded in my '09 for a 2012 Silver A3 fully loaded with the Open Sky, Cold Weather, and Titanium Sport Package. Got a good deal and the dealer was great to work with. I have put 1K on the car so far and it has been flawless. Love it so far!
