Why doesn't AoA think A3 owners are tech savvy?
Is there some reason that AoA doesn't offer more of it's tech in the A3?
I'd really like a fuel efficient vehicle with strong interior styling and the best possible tech. I really like Audi's interior styling, the TDI engine seems a great fit for me, and while Audi's top of the line tech is a bit behind the other players I could live with it. I'd have bought an A3 last year, but there were almost no tech options included. So I waited for the 2011 model years. They added a few things, but it still seems like an older MMI system (smaller screen, no traffic, no voice) than the A4. No backup cam system, no HD Radio, no Advanced Key option, no Homelink, etc... Am I in an odd minority? |
A3 is stillbirth, something Audi America never really wanted to bring over. By not giving it a corporate sponsored lease program, they basically did not try to promote its success. The Euro A3 has lots more options, including self parking.
There will probably be no upgrades for A3 until the brand new model arrives. I was surprised even with the new higher resolution RNS-E (with faster processor to boot). |
Frankly all that stuff is useless to me.

Tech cost money...

trying to keep it reasonably priced. no one in the states would pay over 40k for an a3, even with real bonafide quattro.
americans don't appreciate a car like that. |
