Hope this helps. It was too involved for me to fully go through, so I just sent it. Formatting was lost. The first thing I'd check are connections and then try a throttle body alighnment and see if that does anything. Easy and cheap to do.

 

ok i did what david posted, checked the voltages on the connector, they were fine, did more searching on audiworld and the zine, and i thought i narrowed it down to a bad throttle body. ordered one from ecs, got it today, replaced it and it is still the same issue, dies at 1500 rpm, almost like at 1500, the car is shut off and then turns back on again, still getting code p1545 tp sensor failure. I am lost and stressed.

 

would bad gas cause this to happen?

 

No, are you using bad gas?

 

it started after i filled up like 2 gallons at a sunoco station. since i have done tba, it idles good now, just won't go past 1500 rpm.

 

did you ever get this figured out? i have the same issue. ordered new throttle control module and no help.

Check ur MAF.... clean it.... but be very carefull while cleaning it... its very very fragile!

I had these similar symptons when my MAF was messed up/ Backwards!

 

i had to re-adapt my Electronic Fuel Control Valve using VAG tool.

 

Just wondering what settings you used on your VAG-COM as I can't seem to find the instructions on the rosstech website.

01 - Engine, then what value do I need to do a measuring blocks/basic settings on?
