I know what you mean, man.. Buying a used car means accepting all the crap that is cause by the previous owners neglect. My turbo died after I got my car used too.

There are quite a few places to get parts... to name a few reliable ones...

www.ECSTuning.com is a decent place to get popular Audi maintenance and performance parts. Good prices here. ECS has a package pricewhich includesALL of the front A4 control arms (the source of your ball joint squeaks most likely).

www.alloemaudiparts.com for typical parts with ok prices. I just ordered new spark plugs there.

www.germanautoparts.com

www.thepartsbin.com

cheers... brrman

Hmm... I called my dealer looking for the history and the first lady I asked was about to tell me off but then i got switched to another guy who told me everything I wanted to know, I just had to give him the VIN. The history on the Audi computer database only tells you what was paid for by Audi, so basicalyy History of the car under warranty, about 50k mi. He didn't have anything after 50k, and my car had 90k on it.

Anyway, I would've just tried another dealer if the first one wouldn't give u the history.

I got some parts recently from Germanautoparts.com (all OEM), was gonna install, then chickened out and sent it to the dealer. they rejected them, saying they were not OEM. I guess its either the dealer or Germanauto that was full of crap, take ur pick.

I would never buy a vehicle from a dealer if they were not willing to let me have the car's previous maintenance records. First thing I ask em is "how much of the car's history do you have on paper?"

They will let you have em if it means the sale.
