You can modify the 2.8 or 3.0 but its alot more expensive and nothin gives you more bang for your buck than a chipped 1.8t. but if your looking for of the line power you might be better off trying to mod a 3.0 with the spool up time of the regular K03 turbo you tend to get a very slow start and then go like hell. its my thoughts that you could easily out pace a 3.0 with a 1.8 of the same year with half the money invested</P>
Also in terms of general maintnance theres more plugs, wires to replace and ive seen the engine bay of the 3.0s you thought the 1.8T had no room to wrench try gettinyour hairy gorilla knuckles in there, though ive never worked on a 3.0 but i could imagine</P>
