I had a simmilar problem when I bought my car this might not help, but my problem was the line coming from the first washer fluid tank(the one you add the fluid too) was disconected its located on the front bottom of the tank my other problem was the line was too short and i couldnt get the hose all the way on which resulted in the hose blowing off when you used the washers. So I cut a piece of 1/4 vacuum line and used that instead</P>


easy way to find the leak is too fill the system and then look for puddles if you dont see any have someone opperate the washers while you watch</P>


and no I dont think you can shut off the annimation</P>

 

I had the same prob. My headlight sprayers had failed, and when this happens, it causes a leak in the fluid tank. I took it to the dealer, and they fixed it. I was under warranty, but I think otherwise it costs about 300 to fix.
