Hey guys, I recently picked up an 01 A4 1.8T. I've heard allot of people saying the 01 model has 170HP. Is this true? Thanks

 

The 2001.5 has 170hp. The 2001 has 150. If there is a red flag type thing next to the T in 1.8T on your trunk then you have the 2001.5 and it has 150hp. Another way to tell is to look at the build date.

All 2001 A4 1.8T are AWM with 170hp.

 

Audi has never made a 2001.5 model designation.
Crazyhawk is correct. All 01's have 170 hp.

Maybe that was in the S4 then? From Audiworld I always here them talking about that.

 

My car is the so called 2001.5, its in no way an offical name just a common nick-name. It refers to the mid-late 2001 A4 1.8t quattro sport models. They have the 17" wheels, sport seats, stiffer suspension, and some have a different steering wheel (most I think, not to mention the Sport insignia as mentioned).
The insignia is on the steering-wheel and attachted to the T in turbo on the trunk. I'll have pictures if there is any doubt... once the weather in NE gets a little bit more bareable.

 

what? every model year has a sport trim, my friend.
With bigger wheels and upgraded suspension.
The steering wheel is a separate option as well after
1998 - both my non-sport cars have had the sport wheel.
Being a 2001.5 has nothing to do with it. You simply
have the sport trim.
