1.8t and 400+hp?! I got some questions
I've been doing some searching on the forums and wasn't able to find any 1.8t with a t3/t4 turbo or bigger (400+hp). Is there a reason for that? I've looked at the ATP website and found the GT28RS kitwhich gives only around 320hp and costs $2400.That's a huge waste of money for that little hp if you ask me so I'm thinking of doing my own turbo setup (if that's even possible). Has this ever been attempted, successfully?
Also, what all would it take me to reach 400+hp (I know, fuel upgradesbut what else)and is this even possiblewith the stock bottom-end?

Hell ya you can do your own turbo setup search 'tomritt' on Audizine he has a NEW project going that is off the hook.
The stock AEB blocks will hold 400chpbut you'll be pushing it. Alot of guys run the GT2871r elim kit that puts you at 400chp(300whp) with no issues.
the APR 3+ kit says 340chp, but many have dynoed the kits and found they put down 310-325awhp which translates to about 400 at the crank... there are many people on www.audizine.com with 400hp + even as daily drivers... a well put together GTRS kit with SPS3 turned up should make close to it....
its expensive but if you break the kit down, its not really over priced, if you pieced together a GTRS kit with a tubular mani, it wouldnt be a whole lot less... plus APR has 10% sales, u can get it for $4600 sometimes....
APR comes with so much stuff...
its definitely the best plug and play kit... they just revised it last year with new programming and injectors and everyone says its making over 400chp, ecode dyno'ed two of them and got 310 and 320 at the wheels

Are you looking to get 400whp or 400chp?
the real gt2871r turbo might get you on your way to 400whp but you'll most likely have to get a gt30+ series to hit that # in whp.
apr stage 3 is a very reliable kit if your ok with 320whp
